ESIA criteria
The social criteria of the ESIA assessment can be divided into 2 parts :
The ESIA management criteria are based on the transparency of a company’s decision-making procedures in respect of documentation, monitoring and evaluation protocol.
The ESIA performance criteria are based on the relation between economic growth, job creation and the protection of worker rights. These are some of the most important standards in assessing a company’s overall corporate social responsibility and form a central tenet of the ESIA audit.
For any business, the workforce is an essential asset, and a good worker-management relationship is the key ingredient to the sustainability of the enterprise.
The requirements set out in the ESIA performance standards have been guided by a number of international conventions negotiated through the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations (UN).
