The ESIA environmental standards provide companies with rigorous quantitative targets for air and water pollutants, noise level, etc., all established in order to preserve human health and the natural environment.

Standards are established by ESIA as a benchmark by which to monitor pollution and to assure the environmental responsibility of the company in question. Again, the ESIA standards are set to take into account the specific conditions of ethanol and sugar production concerning the environmental impact this has on the surroundings.
